Not normal: Did they administer any contrast for the mri? Sedation should not cause the diarrhea, i would contact the pediatrician, make sure they are having enough oral liquids.

Unlikely: If the child had to drink 'contrast' prior to doing the mri, sometimes they will have diarrhea for the next day, but it shouldn't last any longer than that. Most likely the diarrhea is not associated with the sedation and the mri.
