A member asked:

How does an nsaid differ from tylenol (acetaminophen)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Anti-inflammatoy.: Nsaid is short for non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. These drugs, in addition to being pain killing, stop inflammation. Tylenol, (acetaminophen) however, does not stop inflammation. It only stops pain, which means it is an analgesic. So if you need to stop inflammation, like in arthritis, use an nsaid, not tylenol (acetaminophen).
