What's the best way to deal with suicidal thoughts especially when hospitals terrify you and no doctor can help except lock you up?

Get help: Suicidal thoughts are common within the general population. If you have a plan or possess a firearm see a doctor asap.

Reach out: Doctors are there to help you with issues like this. If you're feeling suicidal and can't guarantee your safety, you may need inpatient treatment for a time. Overall though, recovery from illnesses resulting in suicidal thoughts is gradual over time -- and relies on you working consistently with a therapist and psychiatrist you trust. Medications & talk therapy can really help if you participate.

Do not stay alone: Avoid alcohol, illicit drugs and do not stay alone. Confide your problems in a caring loved one. Get up every morning and follow a regimented schedule designed to make others feel better. Do not keep any guns, poisons, sharp objects nearby. Ask god to show you his plan for you and follow it. Suicide is devastating to everyone except you. Are you that selfish?
