It sould: There are some medical condition where people don't absorb iron properly . These are primarily disorders of the bowels, like celiac disease, however most people absorb a good percent of the iron they consume , whether in supplement or in iron containing foods. I would recommend follow up with a physician if you have to check if you have concerns about your ability to absorb nutrients.
