Nope: Thyroid is in the front-lower part of the neck, below the 'adam's apple' your lesion sounds like ''seborrhic dermatitis/eczema"...A localized dandruff like condition... It could be infected hair follicles in that scalp area. Before asking your md, you may wanna try applying 1% Hydrocortisone ointment alternating with neosporin oint. Selsun blue[selenium sulfide 2%] shampoo will additionally help.

Thyroid front neck: You should have your doctor take a look at what you have on your head. Your thyroid gland is located in the bottom third of your neck, right in between the two muscles that stick out when you turn your head from side-to-side (sternocleidomastoid muslces) and 2-3 inches above the top of your breast bone.
