Doctor can evaluate: A dark spot due to trauma is usually left alone to fade with time. All active children get little scars here and there (they all have accidents). A pediatrician can look to see if there is anything unusual about the spot. Sunscreen helps. For new cuts and abrasions, covering them with a bandaid after applying neosporin, may help. The doctor might use Hydrocortisone if inflammation is darkening it.
