Try Lyrica (pregabalin): Lyrica (pregabalin) works on nerve weakness and pain. Dose is 50 mg three times a day. Response time varies from 4-6 weeks.

He needs to see a : Geneticist & have genetic testing to determine if he has one of the inheritable, progressive genetic neuromuscular disorder (e.g., muscular dystrophies, mitochondrial disorders, charcot-marie-tooth disorders, etc.). The diagnosis will tell you both his prognosis (expected long-term outcome) & the pattern of inheritance, which is important for your own family planning.
