See a retina special: Most patients have a return of their vision after recovery form ampee, but some do not. There can be several reasons for this. You must ask your retina specialist the specific reason as some are treatable and some are not.

AMPPE: unknown: The effects of steroids in prevention and treatment of active disease could be beneficial to some. Regaining vision after there has been damage to the fovea is difficult. Many agents could be attempted to address the visual loss if it is due to macular edema as is sometimes the case. This needs retinal specialist.
