Several possibles: Including infection, miscarriage , hormone problems, stress, too much soy or fibroids or polyps, though the latter is less likely with someone your age. See your doctor and get checked out.

Several things: While it is most likely that this is what we call an anovulatory cycle (skipped ovulation causing irregular bleeding), it is very important to make sure that you are not pregnant. An early pregnancy can cause irregular bleeding, and an abnormal pregnancy called an ectopic pregnancy can cause this kind of bleeding also. Please see your doctor.
