Bio

Frederica was born outside Boston, but grew up in the Bay Area. Her diverse interests include sailing on the Bay, local agricultural and conservation efforts, and competitive dressage riding with her two horses. She has worked extensively as a teacher and care provider in underserved areas, including Central and South America, India, and Asia. In addition to her faculty appointment at UCSF, she has taught integrative medicine as a founding faculty member in the doctoral program at the College for Traditional Medicine in San Francisco. Above all, she enjoys spending time with her adult daughter who also lives in the Bay Area.
