Can spotting be there during first month of pregnency

Some light spotting or brown discharge is normal early in the first trimester. One explanation for spotting in the 3rd week of a pregnancy is that the embryo is implanting in the uterus and the burrowing causes some spotting. Other brown or red discharge could just be due to the increased uterine vascular development that occurs when growing the placenta. All of this is normal.
