I have red bumps at the back of my throat? could that be strep? or do they have to be white bumps?

Get checked.: You don't have to have white patches to have strep. Red bumps can be due to strep or to other things, too. But if you have a sore throat it is always a good idea to get checked for strep to be safe. Strep gets better without treatment, but if it is not treated, you can get rheumatic heart disease and other complications. Get seen. Better safe that sorry.
