A lot of things: There are many different reasons why men may be infertile. A few examples are genetic problems, lifestyle choices, exposure to reproductive toxins, infections, varicose veins in the scrotum, blockages.. The list goes on and on. When we see patients with fertility problems, we have them undergo various tests to elucidate the etiology of their problem(s) so we can turn patients into parents!

Many causes: Whatever prevents a man from being able to have intercourse and ejaculate semen with normal parameters into vagina can lead to male factor infertility. It includea, but is not limited to, erectile dysfunction, ejaculatory dysfunction, low or absent sperm count, low motility, low morphology, endocrine dysfunction, medical comorbidities, meds, drug use, etc. Best to obtain a urological evaluation.
