Extreme lower outer thigh pain 11d post op l knee arthro-mpfl repair &removal of osteochondral piece-severe swelling, hard to bend 3mth since injury?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pain @ 11d is common: When fluid and swelling are present in the knee, you will usually see it on outer part of thigh. If a tourniquet was used it can also cause residual but temporary pain in thigh. If the surgeon did a lateral release that also causes pain on outer thigh. If pain is severe you should have your doctor examine to make sure there is not an infection or determine if fluid needs to be removed from knee.
