What is the treatment for pulmonary tb? i'm told its the same as urinary tb treatment.

See below: Treatment for active pulmonary TB consists of an initial phase of two months with four medications (rifampin, isoniazid, pyrazinamide, ethambutol). This is followed by the continuation phase of another 4-7 months with Rifampin and Isoniazid for drug susceptible tb. Urinary TB treatment typically follows the same treatment protocol as pulmonary tb.

Its the bug...: ...not the organ that matters (for the most part). The key with TB is the number of doses of drugs to which the bug is susceptible. Ultimately, drug susceptibility testing should be done on the pathogen, but most therapy starts out with empiric use of three or (more commonly) four drugs, tapering down to two effective medications for the last few months of therapy. Take ALL doses as directed.
