A member asked:

Every month, when my period come.my upper abdomen will cramp badly. some time it get so serious that it affect my daily life. what should i do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Generally menstrual: Cramping is in the lower abdomen, where the uterus is located, the organ that's cramping. If its right under your sternum then you could be having acid reflux. Consider the birth control pill and generic zantac (ranitidine). If to the right it could be a gallstone but ur a little young. I would get seen, u need some form of contraception and my hunch is that upper abdomen is GI related. Gd luc.
