In many ways yes.: If you are using any non prescribed substances, you need to discuss this with your doctor. Many things can interact with your medications, and you need to have open communication with your prescribing physician to discuss the side effects and possible negative drug interactions with the cannabis. There is also the very real issue of legality that you are opening up if it is not prescribed.

Absolutely!: Let's be blunt. Cannabis contains 30+ psychoactive compounds, greatly increasing the likelihood of psychiatric symptoms. Besides making it very difficult for your psychiatrist to tell what's going on in trying to help you treat your condition, bipolar disorder shares many genetic similarities with schizophrenia. Cannabis in your age group increases the risk of a psychotic break! sorry no weed 4u!
