Yes: Stress leads to teeth clenching or grinding. Just like any muscle/joint complex that is over used it can become sore and painful. There are simple treatments that can help. It can be as simple as a slight mismatch in your bite. An examination and a bite adjustment can bring relief. Sometimes it's more complex and requires more investigation.

It can, in a way: Stress doesn't cause jaw pain. However, it often does cause one to clench or grind the teeth, which puts stress on the teeth, jaw, and jaw joints and can cause pain in those areas. Most clenching/grinding occurs at night while sleeping, so one is unaware it is happening. See a dentist to see if nighttime grinding might be the cause of your jaw pain, or if there is another cause (like infection).

No.: Stress causes you to grind and bruxelles your teeth, doing it for eight hours night after night is causing the jaw to ache. See your dentist for a night guard to protect your teeth while you keep grinding your teeth every night or better yet eliminate the stress out of your life, then you are home free.
