Burn scars: Burn scars may benefit from excision and repair .You really need to see a plastic surgeon to assess if you are a candidate for excisionand repair or the insertion of a tissue expander and later excision of the scar.

Acceptance: That was a bad burn. Fortunately, you lived through that horrendous experience; unfortunately, our current technology does not do very well with making old burn scars pretty again. If it did, it would be a major and expensive operation to replace your current skin with new skin. There have been experiments done with spraying on stem cells onto burn areas, but availability is a long way way...
