Normal: Babies are built to function as their body demands and to stimulate us as well. Sometimes that means they are hurt, sometimes they are dirty and need changing, sometimes hunger. Babies also cry to stimulate mom's brain to tell it to make more milk. Even if not breastfeeding. The breastfeeding cycle is highest at night and thus more crying. Not only is this not bad, but exactly what a baby should.
