A member asked:

Why is my 11 week old baby girl always crying when pooing? what i do to help her.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably normal: If your baby's poop is hard, that may be the cause of her crying. If so, giving 1-2 oz fruit juice, such as prune juice or apple juice, once a day can help. If the poop is soft, it is actually normal for babies to grunt, strain, and cry to have a bowel movement. Their muscles are not well-developed yet, so they must really work to do what comes so naturally to grown people - poop!
