Make some changes: If you have thoughts of self harm get immediate medical attention. Overall though, a major step is to identify your thoughts, habits, and behaviors supporting these conditions. A cognitive behavioral therapist can help with that and establishing adaptive alternatives you're willing to do to help you overcome your conditions. Depending on severity of symptoms, medication can help you get started.

See a therapist: If your anxiety and depression have never been diagnosed by a mental health professional, start by seeing a therapist who is a social worker or psychologist. That therapist can help you decide if taking medication would be helpful in addition to the therapy. There are things you can do to help yourself such as exercise, meditation, being around people, listening to music.
