It depends : Some children are on medication that increase the appetite and the weight. A small percentage of those with autism have a genetic disorder in which food seeking behavior becomes a major drive. Some seek certain foods because of the way they feel after they are consumed, almost like an addiction. Keep healthy, non- processed foods in the house as these are less likely to be the source of cravings.
