Perhaps: Xanax (alprazolam) seems to combine a higher occurence of ephoria with a relatively short half life. Any other benzo is either less euphoric or has a longer half life and is less problematic with addiction. This includes ativan, Valium and klonopin. Yet all carry significant dependence risk as well. There is a slow release Xanax (alprazolam) which is safer but also maintains a physical dependency.
