Prevent not treat: You've run into a common problem with the use of tranquilizers to treat true panic (which comes on very suddenly & only lasts 10-15 min). No oral med works that fast. The solution is to prevent such attacks ahead of time using cbt psychotherapy, ongoing medication such as an ssri, or both.
