Was taking 1.5 mg of xanax (alprazolam) daily as needed for panic for 5 weeks. when i don't take it for more than a day i have tremors. could i have a mild addict?

Yes, but it's good: You've had a relatively short duration of use, so it will be easier for you to taper off use and get past the w/drawal effects. I've heard a very safe pattern is to step down 0.25mg in dose every 2 weeks till gone. So, 1.25mg/day then 1mg, then 0.75mg, then 0.5, to 0.25 and FREE! 2-1/2 months to a safe landing. Or, better yet - ask a provider to guide you off safely. Be careful w/ Rx's. Best 2U!
