A member asked:

How do i know if my daughter is teething or just chewing to explore? 4 months, passing crankiness, drools a lot & always wants things in her mouth.

Normal for her age: Only with x-rays or actually seeing white bumps emerging just under or at the surface of your daughter's gums can you know for sure that she is teething. It' a little early for her to be teething, but very possible. What you describe seems very normal for a 4 month old, whether or not she is actually teething. Enjoy her and this time in your lives.

Sounds like teething: The behaviors you describe sound like teething and she is the right age. Even if this is just chewing to explore, it is normal behavior.
