Communicate: Make sure the dr isn't waiting to allow med(s) time to work ("therapeutic trial") or some other valid reason. If not, specifically ask how your excess pain will be addressed. If no answer, or not to your liking, you will need to find a new pain dr.

Pain Management: Let your doctor or the office manager know what your concerns are. If you still feel uncomfortable, find another doctor.
