See a doctor: As ankle swelling can be a sign or manifesttion of other things such as high blood pressure or kidney problems. More commonly it is from standing for long periods and incompetent valves in veins. This can be examined or looked at as well. See your doctor: If both of your ankles swell and there is no activity or pain it is usually due to fluid retention. Your doctor needs to evaluate you the reason you are retaining fluid.
