It depends: Supplements are not well controlled - and can have multiple unstudied ingredients which makes it difficult to navigate and make decisions. I recommend only purchasing whey protein (no additives) or a vegetarian protein and mixing in your own additives. This way you can research additives and rest assured it is safer. Protein is the foundation - which is achieved with whey or vegetarian powders.
