I would suggest: You be seen by a dentist for an evaluation / x-ray. It is very possible the tooth will require endodontic therapy. Please see a dentist as soon as possible if you haven't already. Hope this helps and thanks for the question.

May be permanent: You may have damaged the "nerve" of the tooth. Discoloration may be permanent. Ask your dentist to refer you to an endodontic (root canal) specialist for evaluation.
