Pain : Yes. Ice the area - it may be sore for 3 to 5 dayd.

No: You should not have pain the next day after an arthrogram unless you were in the same pain before the arthrogram. I have done tens of thousands of arthrograms, and very few people have that. You can use warm compresses and Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin if safe for you. I also recommend Benadryl 25mg every 4 to 6 hours for one day in case you are sensitive to the injected drugs. Do not drive with Benedryl.
