Wrist arthrogram: yes is is normal to have pain, fluid injected increases pressure like swelling. Ice should help. It may take 2-3 days to improve

No. Not normal.: An arthrogram should not hurt afterwards, but very occasionally does. In my practice, less than 1% complain of pain afterwards. Your arthrogram may not have been properly performed, or you may have pain in wrist and elbow due to position in the MRI. I advise warm compress, motrin or other non-aspirin NSAID and 25mg Benadryl (diphenhydramine). Patient pain should be resolved in less than 24 hours.
