Never "have to": Absent a GI absorption disorder, eating disorder, or malnutrition problem, there is never a requirement to take a vitamin or supplement. Many prefer to as means to try to optimize their health. That can begin at any age. One-a-day type are easiest, and if you miss one here or there, is not a problem.
