Topical steroids: Eczema generally responds to topical steroids. Topical steroids come in a variety of strengths and in order to get good relief you have to match the potency of the steroid to the degree and location of eczema. One can try over the counter Hydrocortisone but it is weak and sometimes is inadequate.
