Any suggestions for avoiding sodium in restaurants, other than "hold the salt & seasoning"?

Try this: You will generally be okay if you avoid adding any extra salt when you eat out. And look for naturally lower sodium containing foods on the menu....At home, you can use the low sodium cooking recipes..And throw away the salt shakers....You get about 6 times the salt you need in your food without adding any..

Good Luck with That: The western diet relies heavily on salt for seasoning. And restaurants don't hold back at all. Try this: 1. Never eat from the bread basket (breads, cakes, pancakes, etc. Are full of salt). 2. Avoid creamy, cheesy sauces. 3. Avoid restaurants that use pre-prepared starters (usually your chains, diners) 4. Avoid smoked meats and deli cuts. 5. No salad dressings (usae oil and vinegar).
