Depends...: There are levels of recovery depending on the approach - open or laparoscopic; a laparoscopic approach would likely allow you a little quicker recovery. If your job also entails a lot of heavy lifting or strenuous activity along with driving, you may have some weight/activity limitations set forth by your surgeon. Risks of doing too much too early include hernia recurrence and pain.
