See below: Otc sleeping aids usually contain Diphenhydramine also known by the brand name as benadryl (diphenhydramine). Too much Benadryl (diphenhydramine) can cause drowsiness, slow the breathing and may even effect the heart and cause abnormal heart rhythms.
