Yes. Manage anxiety: By learning relaxation skills & learning to modify the thoughts, perceptions & beliefs that trigger your anxiety. Learning to calm your body & your mind is the key. You can learn these skills on your own, but having a mental health professional "coach" you is quicker & more effective. Biofeedback helps learn relaxation skills (www.Bcia.Org & www.Aapb.Org). Entrenched anxiety may require meds.

Yes, it is treatable: It may be more helpful to think of "anxiety" as the psychological equivalent of fever-- a nonspecific response to a wide range of possible underlying difficulties. The suggestions of the other doctors will likely help, but if the anxiety persists or is severe enough to cause problems, see a good psychologist to get to the bottom of it and treat the cause, not just the symptom. It can be treated.

See below: Talk to your physician to see if there is a physical basis for anxiety, work on finding out what makes you anxious. Try to establish daily routine to bring some predictability in your day; practice deep breathing, relaxation/ guided imagery (you can find scripts on the web); you can work with a therapist to help you guide through the process. Consider medication, if symptoms become overwhelming.

None: finding out what is making you anxious is the first step. I would discuss your anxiety with a therapist. If your anxiety is affecting your life style in a significant way, the psychiatrist may prescribe anti-anxiety medication. Screening lab work for thyroid studies and complete blood count would be helpful. techniques like meditation, yoga or deep breathing may decrease your anxiety.
