Why do medical studies sometimes contradict others?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Media & flaws: The media never reports medical studies accurately. All retrospective (memory-based) studies are flawed by their very nature. For example, the last big study on meat-eating showed heart benefits for white meat (never reported) & if respondends maybe shaded tobacco / exercise questions by 5%, red meat would have no effect. In medicine we try to muddle through & give the best guidance we can.
