Took utovlan for aweek.had very heavy bleeding since iv stopped. never taken utovlan b4. female in my late 20s, have had pcos in the past. why is this?

To help....: Stabilize bleeding. In women who do not ovulate, including those with pcos, the lining has continuous build from estrogen stimulation. As the lining continues to build (i refer to this as bricks)...You need mortar to stabilize the bricks or they'l crumple (ie bleed). Utovlan, a Progesterone (mortar), keeps the bricks together. Once you stop, all the bricks shed together to minimize bleeding.

Norethindrone: This is used to ameliorate endometriosis or menstrual disorders. Pco is a complex illness in which individualization of management is essential. You need to sit down and discuss this entire sequence with a gynecologist, particularly if you are continuing to bleed heavily. Good luck.
