No: Swallowing toothpaste could aggravate heartburn. If your heartburn is a rare occurrence then over the counter remedies are fine. Or, if you can pinpoint specific foods that cause it and eliminate them that works too. As a matter of fact, accidentally swallowing toothpaste, especially ones that have a strong mint flavor or are fluoridated, may help produce heartburn in some individuals. If you suffer from heartburn, consider getting evaluated by a gastroenterologist.

It does not: There is nothing in the tooth paste that would alleviate a hearburn. If that tooth paste has Fluoride and you eat enough of it, you may end up with Fluoride poisoning.
