Yes: Gastroesophageal reflux presents with sour taste in the back of the throat, esophageal burning, which can worsen with spicy or sour food. However, other conditions, such as tracheoesophageal reflux, achalasia, hiatal hernia needs to be excluded.

Maybe..: While the sour taste and sore throat suggest GERD, gastroesophageal reflux disease, the lump is a little out of the ordinary. Your doctor may want to consider an endoscopy of barium study.
