A member asked:

Does a uti always show up in a urinalysis? why or why not?

Urinalysis: The definitive way of diagnosing a urinary tract infection remains urine culture. Many things can cause the urinalysis to appear positive for infection. Sometimes the ua appears relatively normal when infection is actually present. Hence, ua is a screening tool at best.
