Not for herpes: Bactroban (mupirocin) is an antibiotic , works well against most staph and strep; doesn't work against viruses. Often blisters on lip are from herpes infection (cold sore); Mupirocin won't work on those; most of those do not become secondarily infected with bacteria; if it does, then Mupirocin may help.
