Miralax (polyethylene glycol): Can improve the constipation, you need to go at least 2x per week. Are you too thin, if so there are meds that can help. I'm not sure fixing constipation will help appetite.

Try magnesium: Magnesium is very effective in relieving constipation. Any salt of magnesium will work (i.e., magnesium citrate, hydroxide, oxide, gluconate, etc). You cannot od on magnesium, because it will give you diarrhea and be flushed from your system if the dose is high enough. Start with 400-500 mg per day. Find the dose that works for you, and keeps your bowels moving.

Chronic constipation: There is! a bowel regimen is a plan of over the counter remedies to help you achieve two soft bowel movements daily. Start with increasing your fluids, (juices), add fiber (tablets or powder), probiotics and/or active culture yogurts, increase your walking, and use a laxative (miralax (polyethylene glycol) or milk of mag). If you are over 50, get a colonoscopy.
