I just got a new scale from cvs. and when i get on it it tells me one number than i get on again and tells me something else which should i believe?

Get a new scale : Well you could return the scale as defective telling them that it is broken. Another option is to just believe what ever number is lower. It won't be accurate at all but might make you feel good. :).
