See Dentist: It "might" be normal, if the "white" is at the loose/jagged edges of a cut, it could be the remodeling (/healing) process smoothing out surface. If any fevers / new or worsening pain, should see dentist or urgent care / your dr. Otherwise, can salt water gargle occasionally & give it a little more time w/observation.

Go to dentist: It is very common for accident victims to have trauma to the mouth that goes unnoticed and untreated in a er situation. They are not trained for treatment in that area. You need to see a dentist to check the teeth, oral tissues and make sure no fractures. If he doesn't already have one, an antibiotic is a good idea for prevention after trauma.

Wait: superficial oral injuries usually healed by themselves. May take a week or two. Don't smoke or healing will be longer.
