A member asked:

Does gonorrhea look just like tonsillitis or any other throat sickness? what are the differences between gonorrhea and tonsillitis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not usually.: Gonorrhea of the throat often produces a mild sore throat very similar to other minor viral illnesses. The symptoms generally fade over a week. Strep throat and mono usually cause a very sore throat and change in voice oftentimes with systemic illness ( fever, chills, muscle ache, headache, etc.).
