TONSILITIS CAN CAUSE: A sore throat, not all sore throats are due to tonsilitis.

Not much: The tonsils are glandular structures located on both sides of the back of the mouth. Tonsillitis would be any issue that triggered these to become irritated/inflamed. The throat is a generic label for all structures lining the swallowing & breathing entry. It can be sore.You can remove the tonsils, making the label tonsillitis impossible. However, many people use the labels interchangeably.
